A HAVEN OF TRANQUILLITY IN CANNES

Since 2011, the Courtade, Biancone and Cornac families have been running the largest beach in Cannes, the Plage du Festival and have created a real haven of tranquillity in the very heart of the bustling Croi- sette. This legendary beach, which belonged to the cinema advertising pioneer Jean Mineur, is the oldest beach establishment of the town and dates back to mid-19th century, to the days of the “Bains Bottin”. For their beach, Brice Courtade, his mother Anny, his companion Caroline and his brother-in-law Nicolas commissioned one of the most famous urban architects to design the structure: Jean-Michel Wilmotte. It is chic and comfortable, the furniture is in beige and white natural wood, the bio-climatic pergola regulates the temperature. Uncluttered and minimalist, it leaves space for clients to admire the spectacle of the sea for an eternally gentle lifestyle. At the helm is the chef François Vadala, a former chef at the Moulin de Mougins and the Amandier in the Vergé days, while his wife Frédérique excels as pastry chef. We adored the menu featuring seasonal produce, renewed every fortnight, and his confit artichoke salad, asparagus and Pata Negra, the delicious Asian salad with King crab, the Carnaroli risotto, lobster and asparagus tips, the fabulous plancha-cooked Gambas marinated in soja, the Black Angus burger or the famous 500 g Simmental rib of beef. For desserts, you don’t know where to start: the white chocolate craquant, fluted like profiteroles, or the seasonal fruit minestrone… The beach specialises in event organisation. Besides the evenings created for prestigious brands during the film festival, the beach can organise weddings and parties for your moment in paradise to remain unforgettable.
