Amitiés, Bonnard-Matisse
Maeght Foundation
Inspired by major American foundations, the visionary couple Marguerite and Aimé Maeght created the first modern and contemporary art foundation in France 60 years ago, which has become one of the leading lights of the genre. It includes more than 13,000 works by Braque, Calder, Chagall, Miró, Ubac, Garouste... To celebrate the event, the summer exhibition, Amitiés, Bonnard-Matisse, focuses on the friendly relationship between Bonnard and Matisse, and their links with the Maeght family, for whom the two artists embodied two geniuses of the 20th century. On this occasion, the foundation is inaugurating four new exhibition rooms, and has planned a month of celebrations: concerts, dance, workshops, readings...
