Cap Moderne, Eileen Gray and Le Corbusier
A paradisiacal place overlooking the Bay of Roquebrune, Cap Moderne is a concentrate of avant-garde architecture from the end of the 20s to the 50s, classified as Historic Monuments, and completely restored. The designer Eileen Gray and the architect Jean Badovici built Villa E-1027, Le Corbusier, 5 camping units and his own cabin there, and the Nice plumber Thomas Rebutato, the restaurant L'Étoile de Mer. Everyone built a place adapted to their needs, from the most modern to the most minimal, the whole constituting a harmonious environment, where L'Étoile de Mer offered a convivial meeting. To visit this site is to relive with emotion a great human and architectural adventure.
